My Dear Listers -- Remember that any post which you send to the list ends up in the archives for the genealogical equivalent of eternity. So....if your comments have no genealogical content, please think carefully before you send them to the list. Ask yourself if there is genealogical worth or value in sending your message to the list and into the archives. If you decide it's not, it may be better to: a) send the message privately, off the list, or b) not send it at all. For those who are now thinking -- "Well, there's pot calling kettle black!! List concierge sends non-genealogical stuff to the list all the time and yet she's lecturing us about it!" Yes, guilty as charged. But if anybody can tell me how else I can do my job as list admin, I'd like to know. Sending a private message to each one of several hundred subscribers is out of the question.
