Perhaps I have a blacksheep to discover? That would be interesting as well. I have also discovered his grandmothers family was Des Loges (Katharine). Perhaps from the Rheims area as well. Is anyone on the list searching that line? If so, would appreciate any information you may have. Regards, Barbara Engel > >

    3. I forgot to mention that William DELAUNE (1530-1611) was a minister of the Reformed Church in the city of Rheims, where he married Katharine DES LOGES (not sure of the year but before 1565) So what does this mean in terms of legal marriage in France at that time? If there was a church in existance I would think that the marriages would be legal but maybe they had to go through a civil ceremony and then marry in their church? Would appreciate any iinput on this. Barbara
