    3. Thanks to the kind efforts of John Fuller and a possible cousin in France I have been able to clear up some confusion about my GGGGGrandfather, Jean Baptiste GALIEGUE. It turns out he was the FATHER of the other 2 Galiegues I had found living in Spitalfields and he married twice ! I have been able to find out he was born (about 1730) in Walincourt, France, to Michel Galiegue and Marguerite FASSIAN . He married Marie Catherine CATTELAIN ( daughter of Jean Cattelain and Marie Therese NOE ) on 30 June 1750, in Walincourt 59 France They had 3 children: GALIEGUE Jean-Michel, born 27.03.1751, son of J. Baptiste and Marie Catherine CATTELAIN GALIEGUE Filibert, born 31.03.1753, son of J. Baptiste GALIEGUE and Marie Catherine CATTELAIN. GALIEGUE Marguerite, born 01.12.1755, daughter of J. Baptiste et Marie Catherine CATTELAIN. At some stage this family came to England - after 1755 and before 1777. Filibert married Susanne NOE in 1777 and his mother was godparent to the son,Joseph, born 1779. Sadly, Marie Catherine Galiegue died sometime between 1779 and about 1782 ( I will check the St Leonards records for details if and when our Family History centre ever re-opens ) and her husband, Jean Baptiste Galiegue, married Anne HESSE about 1782 -probably at St Leonards Shoreditch . Jean Baptiste and Anne HESSE had 5 children - one being my GGGGrandfather, William Galiegue b 1790, an Undertaker, who married Elizabeth Amelia COOKE at St Mathews Bethnal Green 1818 Jean Baptiste Galiegue died sometime before the christening of his youngest son, also called Jean Baptiste Galiegue, on 4 July 1795.. I am once more interested in the NOE now that it appears again....Filibert married Susanne NOE in 12 Nov.1777 in Spitalfields Christ Church, Stepney and his maternal grandmother back in France was Marie Therese NOE . I think Susanne's parents were Isaac NOE and Madeleine ETIENNE ( or ESTIENNE)..they may have married about 1737 These are their children - all christened at Threadneedle St except one: 58. SUSANNE NOE - International Genealogical Index / BI Gender: Female Christening: 17 SEP 1758 Threadneedle Street French Huguenot I am wondering if anyone can help me find marriage details of Isaac NOE and Madeleine ETIENNE and any godparent information for the births. I discovered just how critical godparents can be when sorting out family relationships! Also, is there anywhere I can look for the date when the Galiegue family arrived in London from France.
