I hope I remember this correctly - The Huguenot Church in Pons was raided and the men in attendance were arrested. Their wives formed a group and went to Paris requesting an audience with the King. If I read the French correctly, they were not granted an audience. But it took courage since they could have been jailed or killed for even asking to see the King.
