Dear Listers, I found a record in the Leiden Municipal Archives dealing with a Pieter Bodine and was wondering how best to proceed in investigating it. I'd appreciate any suggestions. The record was in the "Uitgaande attestaties" from 1620 - 1889. These were testimonies that were written up by the church showing that the member was in good standing. They were used when moving from one place to another, usually within Holland. There isn't much information, just that a Pieter Bodine moved from Leiden to near Hambourg (Hamborch), Germany. His was written on 4-6-1661 in the Hooglandse Church. All the index says is "Bodijn, Pieter nr. buiten Hamborch (with the date). The librarian explained to me what this meant (nr. stands for nar). Thanks for your help, Dave Bodine Dave@MediterraneanAccents.com
