I received some interesting history on my Parks family lately. It informed me that the earliest known Parks (my line) were Huguenots who lived in France, where the name was spelled Parc. Later they fled to the British Isles in order to avoid persecution by Roman Catholics. The earliest known individual named Parks was John, who, tradition says, was brought as a young child to America by his father. I am hoping that there is someone who is familiar with this.
