    3. This is in response to a post from Darlene <tony@ar.com.au> on 14 July in which she confessed that she's "getting desperate" (oh, no!....) on finding any new info on her PALLIER, WATSON and WILLCOCKS lines. I am sure many of us can sympathize with these feelings. Hang in there, Darlene! Most of us have been there -- it's that (dreaded) brick wall. I can't offer you anything specific on your surnames but I can offer some advice to you -- and anyone researching in London -- on possibly where to turn next. Maybe others can offer further suggestions. First, check the GENUKI site (www.genuki.org) to see if there is any useful information there re: what you want to know about London (eg.churches). GENUKI stand for Genealogy in UK and Ireland. And, if there is a surname list there for London, add your surnames to it so other researchers can find you. Also consider joining a Family History Society (FHS) for the London area. There should be info about this on GENUKI. Next, if you've not already done so, I would recommend joining either or both the London-L list and the Middlesex-L list and posting some queries on there. When researching a particular area, it's best to be asking questions among a group of people who are interested in the same area. You never know what useful info they may have to share. Mailing lists for London can be found on Cyndi's List (www.cyndislist.org) and also on John Fuller's Genealogy Resources on the Internet at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/internet.html. I hope this helps but, if not, please feel free to cry on our shoulders any time. No one promised that this hobby would be easy or quick -- it so often isn't -- but the key is to have fun during the search -- no matter how long that search may be! Andrea
