This is in response to a post from Darlene <tony@ar.com.au> on 14 July in which she confessed that she's "getting desperate" (oh, no!....) on finding any new info on her PALLIER, WATSON and WILLCOCKS lines. I am sure many of us can sympathize with these feelings. Hang in there, Darlene! Most of us have been there -- it's that (dreaded) brick wall. I can't offer you anything specific on your surnames but I can offer some advice to you -- and anyone researching in London -- on possibly where to turn next. Maybe others can offer further suggestions. First, check the GENUKI site (www.genuki.org) to see if there is any useful information there re: what you want to know about London (eg.churches). GENUKI stand for Genealogy in UK and Ireland. And, if there is a surname list there for London, add your surnames to it so other researchers can find you. Also consider joining a Family History Society (FHS) for the London area. There should be info about this on GENUKI. Next, if you've not already done so, I would recommend joining either or both the London-L list and the Middlesex-L list and posting some queries on there. When researching a particular area, it's best to be asking questions among a group of people who are interested in the same area. You never know what useful info they may have to share.
