Earlier today (24 Sept), Harry <Amlingpecans@aol.com> asked if there is an association in Germany which began with French Huguenots who moved to Brandenburg province, GER. I don't know the answer to his question but maybe the German Huguenot Society can help with this info. As of January of this year, the Society did not have e-mail but here is the mailing address, as well as phone/fax numbers. There is apparently a staff member there who can answer inquiries in English. It's the German Huguenot Society: Deutsche Hugenotten-Gesellschaft e.V., Hafenplatz 9, D-34385 Bad Karlshafen, GER (Tel +49 5672 1433, Fax +49 5672 926072). For those of you who are researching in Germany, there is also the German Huguenot Museum of Bad Karlshafen (Deutsches Hugenottenmuseum in Bad Karlshafen) at the same address as above. Their website is at the following URL: http://www.hessennet.de/oberweser/Freizeit/Sehenswuerdigkeiten/Hugenotten/ht m The German Huguenot Society established the Museum sometime after WW II in Bad Karlshafen (formerly a Huguenot centre), because access to Huguenot records in Berlin was impossible, due to Allied occupation/division as well as war-related destruction of that ciity. If anyone else knows of additional sources for German research, please post the info to the list. Andrea
