Dead." Comment: In spite of the word "dead" the above entry, these infants would have been alive at the time of the baptism but they died less than two weeks later, see entry below. Remember that these records (BT's) are a copy of the originals (PR's) so the person doing the copying would have the knowledge that these infants later died and noted that fact by writing the comment "dead" in the baptism record. Also, re: infants baptised privately, usually at the parents' home instead of in the church -- this was done shortly after birth if the child was sickly and not expected to live very long.
