There are computerized translators on the web as well and most include English to French. The one I use is Babelfish on Altavista. Couldn't be easier. Even if it's not perfectly translated, it's close enough for government work. Go to: http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr I typed in the following English text: This is a sample of Altavista's Babelfish. The text was translated from English into French. This service is simple, quick, and free. I selected English to French and hit "Translate." Instantly I got: C'est un échantillon d'Altavista Babelfish. Le texte a été traduit de l'anglais en français. Ce service est simple, rapide, et libre. For those with Huguenot relatives who went to Germany, the same text as above in German is: Dieses ist eine Probe von Altavista Babelfish. Der Text wurde von Englisch in Franzosen übersetzt. Dieser Service ist einfach frei, schnell, und. You can also translate from English to Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, although for the latter three you need your puter set up to print those characters. Babelfish does not have Dutch, but there ARE Dutch translators available, you just have to do a web search for them. At the risk of perseverating...if you do not know all that is available free on the web you are going to waste time going to libraries or waiting for others to answer questions that you could answer yourself instantly, or even waste money (some people actually pay translators, or pay for someone else to do research that since the advent of the web requires only a computer and a web connection, not special training and access to specialized collections.)
