Neukoelln, now one of the parts of Big-Berlin used to be Rixdorf until 1913 then changed to Neukoelln and became part of Berlin in 1920. The other mentioned Cologne or Coelln in Berlin, is located now directly in the city center. Again two towns at both sides of a river (Spree) Berlin and Coelln formed the later Berlin. (Berlin is my hometown so I did learn all this in school).
