I have Wendt ancestors in my history. My gggrandfather was Gottlieb Wendt, born around 1820 in the Poznan area. He came to Texas in the 1870's and lived in the Brenham, TX area. If this is a "hit" for you or anyone else. Let me know. Cal Goerdel

Hi Cal.....There is a religious group called Wendts comprised of Germans (perhaps Germans from Russia) who came to TX about that time. There is a website although the URL address escapes me at the moment . A search at < http://www.alltheweb.com > using "Wendt" as your search target would probably get you there.
