    1. [HWE] d'Urfe - prior to1628
    2. In tracing my DURFEE family, there are references to a French Huguenot of this name (d'Urfe) who fled from Rochelle, France, to England prior to 1628, bringing with him a son. I cannot find where they located in England, or how they escaped from France. I do know that THOMAS DURFEE came to New England about 1660, Does anyone have information on their being listed anywhere as Hugenots? All sources I've tried have not helped me so far and I would certainly appreciate any leads. Lillian

    3. I would suggest you contact the Bibliotheque Genealogique in Paris as a search of their records indicates a great deal of information concerning this family. If you have missed how to make contact with this library, which must be in French, let me know and I will let you know. I would add that a search costs nothing. The fact that they have details of a name does not necessarily mean they where Huguenots as this library covers all denominations.
