    1. [HWE] DURRANT's LUTEN's in Bethnal Green
    2. I have just learned that my DURRANT line was French Huguenot (family communication). This opens up a whole new line of research for me! I have records of 2 marriages in Bethnal Green (St. Matthew PR's) one of Thomas DURRANT and Mary Ann PORTER on May 1, 1831 and another of Thomas DURRANT (father of previous Thomas) who married Mary LUTEN Jan 12, 1796. Father of the last mentioned Thomas was also "Thomas" who family records researched previously showed married "Jane" (that is all the info I have on that couple). I know this family later became associated with the Baptist Church, so the idea that they were Huguenot fits right in. I somewhat foolishly assumed, however, that the PR's from St. Matthews meant they were COE. I have not yet been successful in find birth records in St. Matthews, however. Can anyone confirm the DURRANT surname or LUTEN surname as being French Huguenot? Does anyone have access to records for Bethnal Green who may be willing to do some lookups for me on these individuals? Louise Larson Prather, California USA
