Hello, everyone -- This is in response to a post on 7 Jan from Sandy <svincent@ncats.net> re: BELLIER and HERQUE surnames. Sandy has hit a brick wall, mentioning occurence of these names in records of the Dordrecht Walloon Church (Netherlands) in 1616. Sandy -- just a thought -- what about trying a search of the records of other Walloon churches in the same province, ie. Zuid Holland? You could start with the ones closest to Dordrecht and work outwards. Family members may have been attending churches nearby or at least in the same area of the country. LDS has filmed the records of the most of the following Walloon Churches in Zuid Holland (Dordrecht itself is on LDS film # 117668): Brielle -- LDS film #117398 Delft -- LDS film # 117519; also # 451243 Gorinchem -- LDS film # 117829; also # 106807 's-Gravenhage (The Hague) -- LDS film #106812; #106809; #118302-03 Leerdam -- not sure if these have been filmed. Try a Place Search of the Family History Library Catalog on LDS site (www.familysearch.org) Leiden -- a) Vrouwenkerk records are on LDS film #106805 and also # 118976-81 b) Gasthuiskerk records are on LDS films #118982-118983; also on # 536861-536869 Rotterdam -- LDS film # 119798; also # 119882-119886 Schiedam -- LDS film #120858; also on # 106807 Schoonhoven -- LDS films # 120711-120713 Vianen -- LDS film # 120967 Voorburg -- LDS films # 120994 & also # 486827 And don't forget to see if the IGI has any useful information on these surnames. Hope this helps. Andrea
