Listers -- I am forwarding to the list the following message which is from someone who is not a subscriber. If anyone has general advice to offer as to how to start a search in France when a specific location is not known, could they please reply to the list as well as to Judy privately? I'm sure others would be interested in this topic. Many thanks. The name is not listed in the Paris Bibleotheque Genealogique but that is not to say the name is not French. The name I am researching is not listed there. The nearest I came was to Maison ALFORT in Department 94, Reunion Isles and a Robert ALFONS in Charente, Department 16. Roy. | -----Original Message----- | From: Judy Winn | Date: January 25, 2001 9:43 AM | Subject: {not a subscriber} ALFONT surname Routed by Andrea | | >I'm trying to find information about the ALFONT family.
