    2. William Riley Hoyt (8 Aug 1843 North Wilton, Fairfield, CT - 10 Oct 1925 - Vincennes, Knox, IN) was the son of Walter W. Hoyt (22 May 1817 South Salem, Westchester, NY- 11 Jan 1892 Portis, Osborne, KS) and Hannah Austin (23 Mar 1820 South Salem, Westchester, NY - 25 Apr1909 Portis, Osborne, KS) He was the grandson of Abraham Hoyt (1 Mar 1782 South Salem, Westchester, NY - 1 Jul 1848 South Salem, Westchester, NY) and Mary Smith (Nov 1777 Wilton, Fairfield, CT - 20 Mar 1859 North Wilton, Fairfield, CT) and great-grandson of Jachin Hoyt and Hannah Keeler. Blair Hoyt). War Veteran Is Found Dead Aboard Train William R. Hoyt, Fort Lauderdale, Dies on Way to Monroe City, Ind. William R. Hoyt, 82, died Saturday while aboard a train for Monroe City, Ind. He was found dead when the train arrived at Vincennes, Ind. Mr. Hoyt formerly resided in Fort Lauderdale with his son, Clifford Hoyt. He was a Civil War veteran and one of the founders of the Henry Clay Roome post, G.A.R. of Miami. Mr. Hoyt leaves two sons, Walter and Clifford Hoyt, both of Miami.
