    1. HOYT & WEED of SE CT [WAS: Joseph Hoyt b.1670 Norwalk, CT]

    3. (1) See David Hoyt's HOYT genealogy, first published and revised in the 19th Century and reprinted in the late 20th Century. It is available in many libraries and genealogical societies; it may still be in print. (2) Anyone named Enos WEED is most likely a descendant of Susannah BELL WEED TALMADGE and her first husband Abraham WEED Sr (1680-1711). Patrick J. Eagan <PJEagan@ibm.net> maintains "The WEED Family On-Line" at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/7588/index.htm (3) Please also check out my query on Jehiel WEED Sr and his wife Lydia HOYT in April 1999 at: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Vt/Bennington as well as John Conyock's response and my response to him (total of 3 messages). (4) Look at the GenConnect suite of 7 new boards each for WEED, HOYT, HAIGHT, etc. at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/indx/FamAssoc.html (5) Anyone who is a serious WEED or HOYT/HOIT/HAIGHT/HAIT/HIGHT/HITE researcher needs to see the WEED and HOYT collections at the New Canaan Historical Society [CT]: http://nchistory.org I spent a week there at New Canaan last year and didn't get through all the material, not all of it inventoried. These collections include not only WEEDs and HOYTs who remained in Southeast CT for many generations but also much information on those who migrated out. (6) See the Barbour index to CT Vital Records, available on LDS microfilm. --Ida Skarson McCormick, idamc@seanet.com, Seattle -------------------------- On Sun, 11 Jul 1999 18:37:20 Mary Gail <marygail@gci.net> wrote: >I am new to this list and found a connection to the Hoyt line at the >familysearch site.
