    1. [HOYT] Daniel Hoyt of Hudson and Daniel Haight of Canaan
    2. Debra Winchell
    3. I've been trying to find more information on Daniel Hoyt who lived in Hudson, Columbia Co., NY when his wife Nancy died in 1808. I've just read that a Daniel Haight began manufacturing satinets and woolen goods in Canaan, NY in 1930. Canaan is in the same county. Does anyone have any information on Daniel Haight? Could he be the same person as Daniel Hoyt of Hudson? The Columbia County Historical Society is missing the records for two of the earliest churches in Hudson, one being the Episcopal Church. I haven't ruled out the possibility they may have information. I have to contact them directly. Thank you. Debbie

    3. I am currently researching the family of Daniel Hoyt of Hudson, New York. According to information I received from this list, his descendancy is the following: John1 Hoyt and Frances, Salisbury, MA John2 Hoyt and Mary Barnes, Amesbury, MA. Joseph3 Hoyt and Dorothy Worthen, Amesbury, Essex Co., Mass John4 Hoyt and Mary Eastman, South Hampton, Rockingham Co., N.H. Johnathan5 Hoyt and Sarah Shepherd, Orange, Franklin Co., Mass. Does anyone know what religion the family was? I'm wondering if they were Congregational or if they were Quaker. Quakers were prominent in Hudson. I want to locate records for the family. Thanks very much. Debbie

    1. [HOYT] WHITMORE - HOYT Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" two old photographs which both belong to the WHITMORE Family of New York. The first is a photograph of Charles WHITMORE who lived in Coxsackie, NY. The photograph was taken at the McDonnald & Sterry Studio in Albany, NY, likely sometime in the 1880's. In addition to his name and place of residence someone has also written "killed on RR" on the back of the photograph. The second photograph is identified as Marion Francis WHITMORE. This photograph was likely taken in the early 1900's with the baby noted as 6 months old at the time the photograph was taken. The photograph was taken at the Peck Studio in Newburgh, NY. In addition to his name and age, someone has also written "For Grandma" and "wearing Papa's baby dress, W. A. WALTER" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to locate information regarding a possible match for one of the photographs, Charles Hoyt WHITMORE b. 18 Nov 1849 at Coxsackie, NY to parents William WHITMORE and Hester Jane HOYT. I'm hoping to locate someone from this WHITMORE Family so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to their rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
