Daniel Butler was s/o- my 9GGP-THOMAS & DOROTHY (HOWES?) BUTLER. One of Daniel's sisters, DOROTHY BUTLER, mar. my 9GGF- HANANIAH GAUNT(T)in MA. Confusion arises when some respected sources state that Elizabeth Howes was a child of Thomas Howes & Mary Burr, and some do not. I've read Thomas Howes' will (1665) and can only find the three sons mentioned, but not Elizabeth. It seems the HOWES may figure at least twice in my colonial GAUNT & BUTLER lines. So, Daniel Butler & Elizabeth Howes may have been kinsmen. Any help out of the confusion would be appreciated.
