HOWREY (Male, White, Married) Date of Birth = December 11, 1827 Place of Birth (City or Town) = Shelby, Indiana Date of Death = February 28, 1924 Age at Death = 96 Yrs, 2 Mo, 17 days. Wife = Elizabeth HOWREY Cause of Death = Cerebral Hemorrhage or apoplexy. Place of Death = Whitewater, Milton Township, Butler Co., KS Burial = Green Valley March 1, 1924 Name of Father = Samuel HOWREY Birthplace of Father = Kentucky Maiden Name of Mother = Miss ROSYBONE Birthplace of Mother = Unknown Informant = (sig) Velman HOWREY Address of Informant = Whitewater, Kansas Just a few of my observations: Note the spelling of HOWREY throughout the document. I don't know who the informant, Velman HOWREY, was. A grandson maybe? Note that he says Samuel HOWREY was born in Kentucky. I was never aware that Samuel was ever in KY let alone born there! Then, Miss ROSYBONE sounds like mischievous grandchildren teasing grandmother Howrey. Or, maybe teased by Samuel and the children/grandchildren truly thought her maiden name was Rosybone. Or, maybe the informant knew what he was talking about and her name was ROSYBONE. Your guess is as good as mine! Sammie
