Hi Larry, and everyone else I figured by now everyone would be LOL about "Miss Rosybone". HawxSakQBs@aol.com wrote: > > HOWERY. The death certificate stated that David had lived in Whitewater for 19 years (so he came to Whitewater KS about 1903.) I know for a fact that his daughter Charlotta J. and her husband Richard F. LEAP moved from Warren Co., IA to Bancroft, Cuming Co., NE by 1886 and lived there until Jan of 1890 because of birth records for two of their children. Then the Leap family was in Whitewater, KS by at least 1909 because Charlotta J.Howrey Leap died there in October of 1909. I've always wondered if David and Elizabeth went to NE with them and then they all moved to KS. There are no 1890 census! I have not examined the 1900 census. >I am aware his > daughter, Della, was married to Harry EDRIS and lived in Lincoln, Nebraska so > I had assumed my earlier information was correct. I concure with the name ROSEBOOM even though I have not seen the marriage certificate. "Miss Rosybone" just isn't correct! And thanks for the tip as to who her parents might have been. > I assume you are aware, but I will tell you in case you are not, that six of > David's children are buried in the North River Cemetery in Warren County, > Iowa. I knew about George and John. Someone so kindly shared the pages about the "Tear Down Murders" from The History of Warren County. However, I don't believe I have all of David's Children. Let me list what I have and maybe you can help fill in for me. I Have: 1. Nancy A. Howrey 1848-1889 married Vincent Young 2. Mary E. Howrey 1850-1852 infant 3. Charlotta J. Howrey 1852-1909 married Richard F. Leap 4. George M Howrey 1854-1876 murdered 5. John M. Howrey 1854-1876 murdered 6. Emma Howrey abt 1863 7. Ida Howrey abt 1865 8. William Howrey abt 1867 9. Saul Howery abt 1870 Besides Della, who else am I missing? Also, In the Green Valley cemetery in Furley, KS is listed a Franklin HOWREY b 26 Aug 1893 d 5 Feb 1973 and a Nola I. HOWREY b 20 Dec 1906 d 23 Jul 1984 (I am assuming this Nola is Franklin's spouse.) Franklin has to be a Grandchild of David and Elizabeth's because I don't believe in 1893 Elizabeth was in the baby making business anymore. Thanks for sharing, Sammie
