Thanks Justin, and everyone I do believe that Edward Howrey (of Howrey & Simon fame) must have been talking about another Howry family of a different age. According to what I find, Daniel HOWRY married Susannah WAX 23 November 1801 and Jacob HOWRY Jr married Martha GRIEST 15 January 1803 all in Botetourt Co., VA. That is if you can believe what is posted on www. Also, Samuel Howry born abt 1770 didn't marry Mary Sifford until 1792. Incidently, there is an Index of Virginia marriages 1740-1850 that can be accessed (free) for the next few days. There are a few Howery/Howrey/Howry marriages listed. Go there and have a look around. <http://www.ancestry.com/ancestry/search/3723.htm> (you might need to remove the brackets here) Sammie Dobbins, CA Justin C.S.
