I am looking for information on Isaac Howell who may have been born in NY. He married Mary Ann and had a son James Aaron Howell b. about 1840. I find James in WI when he married Sarah Lonas. Thanks Priscilla

Priscilla, My husband's family had HOWELL relatives who lived in Queens Co., NY (on Long Island). The names we have in our old GILLIS cemetery plot in Maspeth, NY are: Charles Howell aged 71 who died 1890 in Long Island City, Charles Henry Howell-died 1896 (adult)-resided in Glen Cove and Marianna B. Howell-adult-died 1924 in Glen Cove. Other names in the family are beside GILLIS and HOWELL are BENNETT, STOREY, CRAIG, BAISLEY, COOK, MATTHEWS, HEMPSTEAD, DUNBAR and possibly KERR, SHAW, WILLIAMSON. Looked up my Isaac who married Maryann unknown. 1811-1881 - Died about 20 miles from here. His parents were Jess and Anna Baer. I find no James however. Priscilla, I think you are looking for Isaac B. Howell, born 6 May 1820 in Gallia Co, OH? If so he married a Mary Ann Widock or Widick on 5 Jan 1843 in Piatt Co, IL. I do not have a James Aaron Howell listed among their children, but these are the children I do have. DO any sound familiar? I may just not have come across James Aaron as a son yet???? 1.
