His son Jesse Howell b. Ashe Co., NC, in 1850 with father in VA, m. 1. est. 1881 in KY to Elizabeth Hall (can't find this marriage cert.), was found in Census in Floyd Co., Kentucky; m. 2. Spicey Hall. d. in Floyd or Pike Co., KY. Spicey Hall and Elizabeth Hall were related through the VA Hall's that traveled to KY. Elizabeth's brother was witness to Spicey and Jesse's marriage. Farmer M. Howell was son of Jesse through second marriage to Spicey Hall. He married Belle M. Stratton, daughter of Anderson Caldwell Stratton and Caroline Darby (? on maiden name). Their son was William Halsey Howell (deceased) and he was my paternal grandfather.
