I also am looking for Howell's in Alabama. Captain David William Wilson Howell, C.S.A. (1829-1928) Lauderdale County, Alabama. I believe that he probably was the son of Phillip Howell and Mary Wesson of Lauderdale County, Alabama. He was at Hardin County, Tennessee during the Civil War and later moved back to Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama. He had at least one brother, Lee Howell that died in Evansville, Indiana and one sister named Caroline (Callie) Howell Sharp Wesson. If you think that there might be a connection, please let me know.
