I'm seeking information of Thomas (John?) Howell of Powell Co. (Slade). His son (b. abt 1843) is my great grandfather. I understand that records were burned so not sure where to turn. I have checked the cemeteries and found nothing. No one in our line knows anything about Thomas. John Howell located to Forest Co. Wisconsin sometime in the 1920's and homesteaded on a Lake (named Howell Lake). John married Nancy Combs, daughter of Wilson Combs who served in the 13th Ky Cav.
