Hello everyone, This is my first post, I hope someone can help me locate this Howell. My 4th Great grandmother was Nancy HOWELL. Nancy was b.Nov, 11, 1777 d. Apr 22, 1852, Floyd Co. VA. She married John Bryant HYLTON b. c1775 d.March 28, 1815. Nancy married 2nd William Hancock. Nancy HOWELL's parents were Joshua (possibly Josiah?) HOWELL b.1744 d.July 2, 1835, Muncie, Indiana. Joshua's wife's name was Mary. (don't know maiden name). Joshua was a patriot in the Rev. War. It is believed that he came from PA, but possibly NY?? They lived in Montgomery Co., VA for awhile. They left VA in 1808; then moved onto Champaign Co., OH. Apparently, he was one of the founders of Christiansburg (now called Liberty). He and Mary then moved to Darke Co., OH and finally to Muncie, Indiana, where they both died. This info was taken from Dorothy Burnett Peterson's book; Blue Ridge Heritage. I have seen reference that his name may have also been recorded as Josiah. Any additions and/or corrections would be greatly appreciated!!
