    1. [HOWELL] Howell of Wayne Co., NC
    2. Wynell Simpson
    3. Jackie, Our John Howell had a son named David Howell. David died in Wayne Co., NC leaving a will written Sep 8 1847 proven Nov. Court 1849 Sons: John William and James R. [Robert]; daughters: Jane Holland, Dolly Howell, and Sally Edwards; executor: Peter L. Peacock; witnesses: B. W. Raiford and N. T. Perkins. This David Howell was born about 1780 (guess). You might want to consider this John William Howell. I was not able to find him on the 1850 or 1860 census in Wayne County. Do you have your John William Howell on a census? What did he name his children? We believe our John Howell is the son of Joshua Howell who died 1799 in Wayne Co., NC,but we have no proof. Joshua had a son named John and a grandson named Lewis, but there were several Johns and Lewises in the County at that time. My ancestor is John Howell's son Lewis Howell b. 1778. Good luck Wynell ---- Original Message ----- From: "Jacquelyn Smith" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 11:17 AM Subject: Re: [HOWELL] Ref:Grayson, Loudoun, Botetourt . . . I have a William Howell b. 1844 in Buncombe Co., NC who married the daughter of William Morgan and Amelia (Millie) BREWER Morgan (from N.C., but moved to TN in 1845) in Jefferson Co., TN in 1866.. William Howell's death certificate says his father was John William Howell.. One of his (my William) son's was named Andrew Mack Howell and is my g grandfather..
