While in search of Victoria Howell and Jacob Jones for Glenn, I came upon this book at Genealogy.com that is to good not to share with you all. I think I've seen these given names mentioned in the list so if this is a repeat, sorry! Howells of Curtis and Reedy Districts of Roane West Va Larkin Howell and Moses Howell were the firdt to settle in Roane Co Pascal W and Eliza E Marple Howell his wife had five sons. Larkin D b 1834 lived on Middle fork of Reedy from near close of Civil War until his death 1891 Left no issue William M b Feb 19 1838 married Miss Elzena Tennant in Ritchie Co; they settled at Lone Cedar, Jackson Co and reared a family there. Jacob Howell married a Miss Mount and they settled on Muses bottom in Jackson Co Monroe, married a Miss Tennant and settled in Ritchie Moses Howell married a Miss Mary Jane Peck in Barbour Co West Va; she having relatives in Upper Reedy, they settled there about 1857, having four children with them born in Barbour; their names C.Columbus,America, Victoria, Alvin A.(This is not Glenn's Victoria Howell) C. Columbus, son of Moses and Mary Jane Peck Howell, married Miss Sarah N Roberts, daughter of Simon Roberts of Curtis District December 15 1877; they made their home on Upper Reedy. To them were born Clayton, Annie, Icy,Eva, Minnie and a son Homer D Howell, who married Miss Hallie E Thomasson, April 2 1924, his age 23 and hers 22; the youngest of the family is Miss Laura Howell. Icy married Romeo Fisher America, daughter of Moses Howell married J.N. Robey Victoria, third child of Moses, married James Cummings October 24 1874 settled in Reedy. Alvin Adams Howell son of Moses and Mary Jane Peck Howell united in marriage with Emma R Curry April 14 1880; she was b in Pocahontas Co West va dau of John Curry. Alvin and Emma made their home on the Upper water of the Reedy where to them was born one son Boyd A Howell and six daughters Pearl D, Lulu Z, Willia L., Myrtle M, Goldie N and Greekia C. Emma died, and Alvin remarried to Miss Gay Carr 1916. She a daughter of William P Carr of Gilmer Co WV Another Howell family in the Town of Reedy Enoch Morgan Howell was b in Nicholas Co West Virginia February 16 1849 (Harry Birthday Enoch) son of George Warren and Rebecca O'Balden Howell. They both died when Enoch was a small child. Both Warren and Rebecca were of Irish extraction. Enoch enlisted and served as a soldier of the Confederacy. A large strong blond he returned unscathed as to limbs and physical parts. He appears to have gone to war from Reedy. On May 5 1870 he was united in marriage to Nancy Conrad at her parents home in Reedy. She was born February 6 1851, dau of Peter and Jane Blosser Conrad. Enoch M Howell was a timber expert and a good manager of timber men; at this he passed several years and then settled his family in the village of Reedy. He was public spirited and took part in all public business, and served as justice of the peace of Reedy one or more terms. Enoch M Howell and his wife Nancy, broughtn up one son and two daughters, Mallie, Guy C, and Ivy. Mallie married Henry Clyde Law Dec 24 1897. Her age then 20 and his age 22. Guy C Howell was educated in the Reedy public schools.Was a member of the brass band. He married Miss Ivy Tallman of Seaman Mar 18 1903 his age 22, her's 21; she is the dau od Samuel and Rosa Seaman Tallman. Guy became an expert of a branch of the gas business in which he was employed and lives on Church Street, Spencer West Virginia.
