Colleen, I thought Yea! when I saw this message first as I am having no luck tracing my Howells back to another generation. But, sadly, I just read the post that the testing needs a MALE Howell to to the testing. There are no more in our family line. Or at least none that I know about. Does it have to be direct descendant or can it be from another branch? Such as, from one of my great-grandfather's brothers' lines? Oh well, I guess I will just keep searching. There is a way to do this through ydna testing. This would take us back to a common mail ancestor and goes back many generations. I have had the testing done by dnafamilytree.com. If others in the families would have a male tested it would determine if we are related many generations ago. Although my ancestors came here from Britain, the dna analysis indicates that my background is Viking. Check out dnafamilytree.com. You will find it interesting.
