Hello - I show a William Howell b 1855 in Southampton, LI, NY. His father was John H. Howell b 1811 and his mother was Nancy b 1815. There were 8 children in this family. This info is from the book "Early History of Southampton, L.I., New York With Genealogies" by George Rogers Howell 1887. This info does not show any descendants for William so I don't know if this is your William, but I thought I would share this with you as a possible place to look on this. Good luck. Seaching for information about one William Henry Howell, born approx. 1860, NY or NJ area. He married Ameila Hatton (b. 1860), probably around 1880. They had several children, only two living to adulthood. One was Margurite and the other George Lewis Howell. Sometime after George's birth, Ameila and William divorced. Ameila married Dennis Harris and died in the 1930's. I can not get back any further in my Howell line because I don't know when or where exactly William Henry Howell was born. The family remained in the NY City area. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
