    3. I am still trying to find out what happened to my GGGF, Pleasant Howell. Various sources state he died fighting for the Confederacy... I have not proven this. Pleasant was born abt 1828 in Tn. In 1845, he married Sarah/Sally Barns in Roane County. They are listed on the 1850 & 1860 Roane Census. By 1870, Sarah & children are in Polk County, Tn...without Pleasant. I have a copy of a record on a P W Howell, who fought for the Confederacy, but cannot prove anything from these documents. It appears this person was a Private in Company B, 5th Calvary... According to an online source, this Unit was the "First (ROGER'S) East TN Calvary Regiment, Company H, then became Company B, 5th (MCKENZIES) Regiment. It is said they saw a lot of action in Kentucky & Georgia.. Can anyone help with this?? Thank you for any help or advice you can provide. BTW, I have not found a pension application.. Connie
