Does anybody know if Pharmer or Farmer M. Howell was m. 2 times? I found something that makes me think that maybe he was. 1900 Census Floyd Co., KY pg. 208 household 171 Jesse Howell age 63 [m] b. Nov. 1836 KY, Father b. NC, mother b. NC Spicey [maiden name Hall from certificate] age 36 [m], b. Aug. 1863 m. 20, 10 k, 6 live, b. KY Pharmer Howell age 19 [d] b. march 1881 KY Hayes Howell age 17 [s] b. march 1893 KY (typed version states 1893, believe 1883) Jesse Howell age 9 [s] b. may 1891 KY Joseph Howell age 7 [s] b. Aug. 1892 KY Bruce Howell age 4 [s] b. June 1895 KY Mary Emma Howell age 2 [s] b. Jan. 1898 KY My question is why does Pharmer Howell have a [d] after his name? I can understand Jesse Howell and Spicey Howell with m. - probably married and the other kids with [s] probably means single, but if that is the case then the [d] could stand for divorce? I noticed others with [wd] beside them, probably widowed, but then who is the first spouse of Pharmer and when and why did they divorce? == Everyone is related, we just have to find the connections.
