    3. Jim, I have read three e-mails from you this morning but did not note the time they were filed. One said you are staying as list owner and the other two mentioned Colleen. It is too early for me to think straight so I will re-read them later so I will know what is going on. As you know, I have been on the list for only a short time and although I have not found any connection with my family, I have met some new friends and since it was obvious that some of them actually knew less about genealogy than I (which I thought was impossible) I have sent them what I thought were good suggestions, etc. Many have responded and expressed appreciation. It is in this transmission that I want to express my appreciaton to you for what you have done with the list. As a former small personal servant, I know how thankless a job is when one is doing it well and how people can jump down one's throat when the first little thing happens that is a bit displeasing to someone. It takes a thick skin to deal with the public However, I still feel that Kristen's initial letter was with good intentions. So whatever you do, I wish you well, Jim. I believe the ones who appreciate what you have been doing far outnumber those who don't. And, my best wishes go to Colleen if I am correct in presuming that she is the one who is now to deal with all us misfits who call ourselves Howell. Respectfully, Ed Howell Folly Island
