I'm a novice searcher looking for info about my deceased Grandfather with very little information at hand. His name was Edward Brook Howell (?) and visited Hawaii while in the Navy around 1920. He reportedly died in the Battle of the Coral Sea and was possibly from Virginia. My grandmother, father and me are from Hawaii and don't know much else about my grandfather since my grandmother died early on. Don't have any axes to grind. I'm running into deadends with no birthdate or Social security number and the curiosity is getting intense. Would like to explore my Howell side of the family more and am looking forward to talking to other Howells. Thanks in advance for any info, advice or leads. Philip
