Howell DNA testing has also been done for the descendants of Robert Henry Howell, 1778, Virginia, and later of McMinn County, TN. We are hoping to eventually match up with another southern Howell group. We, too, went through Family Tree DNA where there is a Howell surname project. I would urge those from the various lines to think about having this done. It requires a male with the Howell surname to do the test. It requires only swabbing the inside of the cheek...no bodily fluids involved!
