My HOWELLs started in the Bedford/Franklin area of VA, then went to Floyd county KY (by 1810) and Nelson (near Louisville) KY, then on to Monroe Co MO by 1837. I finally just got a copy of my ggg-gf Samuel HOWELL's 1842 will, wherein he mentions selling his Nelson Co KY farm to a James Duncan in 1836 (when Samuel and family headed for Missouri.) One of Samuel's daughters, Mary Wyatt HOWELL (my gg-gm), married Ferdinand BEARD, son of Robert M. BEARD and Nancy C. WEBB. Nancy Webb Beard's will is witnessed by Robert Wright and Larkin Wright.
