Looking for 1st wife of Larkin Jesse Howell and any information on Larkin. Larkin was b. in North Carolina and was listed in 1850 census of Russell Co., VA. His family traveled lived in Kentucky and settled in either Pike or Floyd Co., KY. known information includes marriage to a Euphrasia or Vempasy Dye McFarland (? on McFarland) who went by many different names. Several children by this marriage, but I'm looking for information on the mother of Jesse Howell who m. 1. Elizabeth Hall and m. 2. Spicey Hall (Elizabeth and Spicey were cousins but I'm not sure how far apart, Elizabeth's brother stood as witness to the 2nd marriage). Other researchers say that Euphrasia wasn't Jesse Howell's mother and in fact Larkin was m. before. But I am unable to find a record or listing for his first wife if this is the case. I also cannot find the marriage listing for Jesse Howell m. 1. to Elizabeth Hall even though I know it to be true. 1850 census states both Larkin and Jesse were born in Ashe Co., NC, and Jesse is listed at the end of the household and not in order by age as other children were.
