Hi, The only thing I can brag about is this: Nancy Jane Howell married John R. Settles... I don't know what time frame this was, but, a cousin told me that "Grandma Settles freed her slaves." The cousin is gone now, but, she didn't know when this was supposed to have happened, either...She heard this when she was a little kid... My Settles were in Atchison Co. Missouri by 1870, well beyond when the war was over... Dixie Lea in K.C...
