Good! Now we have this particular lineage established. I do know that William Howell had a son named George. This leads me to believe that Capt. George Howell was old William Howell's brother. Both men were connected to the HASH family. William's wife was a Hash. George was married to Mary "Polly" Osborne, daughter of Enoch Osborne and a (Jane? Someone working on this bunch please clarify Enoch's wife's name for me) Hash. Also, I think old James Howell's wife was a Hash also? Anyone familiar with old James???? All three names are used amongst the descendants of John and Nancy Brewer Howell. Silas Howell's oldest son was William Decatur Howell. Tilman Howell's son was George W. Howell, and Tillman's twin brother was Andrew D. Howell. Also, John and Nancy had a son named James Howell who married Elizabeth Stone. I believe all three men are brothers. Hope someone else can help clarify some of these mens' families!
