Swinfield D. came to Yancey Co, NC sometime in the early 1800s, Swinfield F. was born there in 1860. He married Margaret Price, of Alexandria, VA -- we cannot find marriage records, so we do not know when or where the marriage took place. He graduated from Chicago Medical School (now Northwestern University), and was licensed to practice in NC in 1891. Because of the missing census from 1880, we do not know where he was at that time. If anyone has any info on the Yancey County Howells and progenitors -- we think the first immigrant is William, from County Antrim, Ireland -- help would be appreciated. Elaine Howell, San Antonio, TX
