This has been a brick wall for the last 15 years. Hope someone out there can help! We need the parents and siblings for the following HOWEL(L) brothers: Brothers JOSHUA (1745-1836) and BENJAMIN ( ca 1740-1799) are well recorded in Botetourt (Montgomery/Floyd) Counties, VA by 1765. According to records for Benjamin's oldest son, DANIEL, he was born in Philadelphia in 1759. Therefore, it is suspected they may have been in the Philadelphia prior to living in VA. Benjamin died in VA. Joshua and his family moved to Champaign Co, OH in 1808 and on to Delaware Co, IN in 1832-34 and he died there in 1835. Both are Rev. Patriots as well as son Daniel. I, too, am interested in Daniel Howell, who apparently married Phoebe Ross in Virginia, b4 going to Ohio in 1810 where his father Joshua was. Md. Sarah Howell 45 b. Md. Eli Howell 21 b. Oh Phillip Howell 17 b. Oh Mary A.E. " 17 b. Oh Meason " 26 b. Oh Mary " 21 b. Va William " 2 b. Oh Reason was my mother's paternal grandfather, and no more is known of him, so we have no context to help. Mary, b. Va was indeed his wife, and he had a son William b. Ohio. Time frames for both are within good reason. I have been able to locate no information on the rest of the children, either, so it's very perplexing! If you can place this family within yours, I would be most happy to join a different search! In any event, I will be keeping an eye out for your Joshua and Benjamin.
