Looking for info, connections, etc. (he is the end of my Howell line) on James B. Howell, possibly of Virginia? According to the LDS Family Centers, James B. Howell was the father of daughter Rachel Elizabeth Howell, b. 04 Jun 1831 in Indiana, d. 17 May 1929 in Rocky Comfort, McDonald Co, MO, m. Joel Stephen Garner (1828-1901) on 23 May 1852. Other sources show her dieing same date in Stella, MO. Family tradition is she was from Howell Co, TN, which was named after her family; however, there is no Howell Co, TN, so I have hypothesized she was possibly from Howell, Co, MO, since her husband Joel emigrated from TN to MO and their family grew up in MO (ah but alas and alack, the last couple kids were born in Indiana, indicating she COULD have been from there as the family (tempoarily) moved from MO to IN (they later went back to MO again)).
