Is anyone on this list researching Lewis Howell, a Rev. War veteran born ca 1755 in VA? He served from Frederick Co., VA, as did his father, William, and brother Vincent, both of whom died in the war. Lewis married first Mary Ann Kirk and they had at least two children: William, born ca 1786 and James, born ca 1790. Lewis' second marriage was to Mrs. Leona Sisk. Lewis was in Kentucky for a time; died 27 April 1833 in Gallatin Co., Illinois. We've found a record in Warren Co., TN Deed Book B of a Lewis Howell who purchased two parcels of land there in 1818. Is this the same Lewis Howell? We are descendants of a William Howell, born ca 1790, married Elizabeth Hogue ca 1810. He served in the War of 1812 from Warren Co., TN, later was in Franklin Co., TN before going to Gallatin or Harden Co., IL prior to 1840. Wife Elizabeth died there in the fall of 1839 and William later migrated on to Missouri where he married a second time in 1842. Has anyone researched the William Howell, born ca 1786, son of the Rev.
