Aha! I have just found Calvin Howell listed on the 1812 White County, TN taxlist, along with a William R. Cole (Richard????). He was in Capt. William Williams' company, listed as Calvin HEWEL instead of Howel. Have any of you folks researching the Grayson County, Va Howell's ever seen Richard Cole listed as "William R. Cole"? I'm curious about these Coles. They're very closely tied to the Howells in White County. Richard's son Isaiah Cole married Honor Howell, a daughter of George and Polly Osborne Howell, and a sister to John and Calvin. I'm interested in the name "Tabitha" Howell, since this is a name used by James Howell and his wife, Elizabeth Stone of White County. Do any of you show George and Polly with a daughter named Tabitha? Also would like to hear from descendants of Thomas and Drucilla (Howell) Hash of Warren County, TN. They settled near Rock Island, Warren County, apparently prior to 1820. Thomas died in 1864. They're buried in the Hash Cemetery near Rock Island. Thanks Will
