I am researching an EXUM HOWELL (there were some stories given to my husband's parents from the Aycocks in Goldsboro that had a William in front of Exum) b. about 1817 in Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. He died before 1880 (he wasn't living with his family at the time of the 1880 census--so we assume he died before then) He married 27 May 1852: MARTHA DAVIS b. 1834 in Perquimans, North Carolina. They had some children: (I keep finding more and more all the time--so I assume this isn't all of them) James Henry Howell, Penelope Howell, Olivia Howell, Jordan Exum Howell, Louisa Howell, John Bryant Howell. My mother-in-law and father-in-law did some research in the 1970's in North Carolina. They came up with the information that Exum's father was William. Sometime later while going through records in Salt Lake City in the Family History LDS Center, my mother-in-law found that William's wife was Ann. Now I don't know how correct this later information is. If anyone can help with me with any information I would appreciate it. I am trying to verify this information that has been passed down in the family genealogy for a while. I am not sure if anything past Exum is even correct. Thanks! Debbie Ya'll have fun now, ya' hear?
