    3. Hello everyone, It's been awhile since I sent out a reminder notice and from the looks of all the error messages I've been getting I can tell. Just a few quick reminders and notices so PLEASE read completely and carefully. First, the passwords to some of my lists' archives don't seem to be working and many of you have expressed how complicated it is to send for the archives via e-mail-- SOLUTION: Please be patient as the rootsweb folks are working on a new system that will allow us to search the archives without a password. It seems however, that since they will be searchable we NEED to be extremely careful as to the content of our messages ie copywrited material, names of living relatives, addresses, etc. PLEASE keep this in mind when posting to the list. Second, there has been a rash of folks sending queries to the command address. Please send queries to the list address only and NOT to the yourlist-L-request@rootsweb.com address the list address is: yourlist-L@rootsweb.com NOTE: don't put the request in the address if it's not a subscribe, unsubscribe or archive retrieval command. Third, if you're not sure whether you're on the list anymore PLEASE post a query (not a "test" message but a query) to the list and wait to see if you receive a copy. Unless you don't receive a copy PLEASE don't resubscribe! Fourth, PLEASE don't send attachments or HTML written (If you turn off `Rich Text Format' or its equivalent posting option in your browser, that should solve the problem) queries to the list address. Now, that's pretty much it. I hope you all will please help me out by following the guidelines listed above. If you have questions on errors please see this web page: http://members.aol.com/TreeCrazyD/error.html Thank you, Dana Thomas list owner ==== HOWELL Mailing List ==== To unsub or for more info on the HOWELL list please see: http://members.aol.com/TreeCrazyD/howell_l.html Note: that is HOWELL _L just like in the list name.
