Three separate queries (if you think your Howell's are a mess): 1. Does anyone have a Joseph who was a RWS who would have had children 1800-1810. Any responses welcome, but expect it to be a Joseph of Cabarrus Co., NC, one of Rowan, NC, or York, SC. 2. Thomas Howell Crayton, probably of Chatham Co. area, NC, b. 1780/84. Mother is rumored to be a Mary Howell. Any idea who? 3. Crocer (or any close spelling} Howell of SC mid to late 1800's moved to NW GA. He was said to be the first man to run a ferry on the Broad River in SC (?). Had a daughter, Matilda Caroline (who married Thomas Jefferson Crayton in GA.) The answer is yes. My cousin, Bob is his own cousin two ways.
