Seeking any hints, links, ideas, suggestions to find the parents of siblings Stephen b 1817 OH, William b 1818 OH, George b 1821 OH, Calista b 1833 OH, Elizabeth b 1835 OH HOWELL. Parents b PA according to later census info. Can find both Stephen and William in Allen Co OH (1838, 1840) when they marry. All are in IA by 1850--probably shortly after 1840--Jasper, Van Buren , Polk Cos. Family lore says that the family were Quakers (Friends) and had land that was part of William Penn's original land grant, that they owned and operated a ferry over the Delaware R at a place called Howell's Landing. The 1850 Jasper Co IA census states that an Elizabeth who is living with George and family is "mother". All of the siblings except Elizabeth go overland to OR between 1852-1863 and settle in Benton Co OR.
